Even pets and other animals are suffering during this pandemic

It is not only humans who are suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic, animals are also greatly affected.

Take the example of the Ipoh City Council which received some 417 complaints which have been abandoned since the enforcement of the MCO.

“Such complaints have increased especially during the MCO and most of these abandoned animals are cats and dogs.

“Either the pets have been abandoned or the pets have escaped from their homes. We notice that most of these animals are older,” said Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

He also highlighted that there are also some cattle and goats which has been released in the outskirts of the city.

“Our enforcement teams will catch these animals with the assistance of the Animal Lovers Association and place them in shelters around the outskirts of the city.
