In conjunction with its 60th Anniversary Celebrations, the Taiping Zoo & Night Safari is offering free entrance to those over the age of 60.

This is part of the promotions to celebrate the grand occasion by the Taiping Municipal Council.

According to council president, Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir, , the zoo was founded in 1961 with an acerage of only 10 acres and now grown to 36 acres.

“The zoo is now a popular tourist attraction in the country,” he added.

Also present at the launching ceremony was Perak State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato Nolee Ashilin Mohamad Radzi.

Among the special programme for the celebration is the “World Tiger Day” which falls on July 31, 2021.

The council will also make commemorative T-shirts, face masks and mugs to celebrate the anniversary.
