Members of the public in Ipoh can now be the “eyes and ears” of the Ipoh City Council to report potholes in their surrounding vicinity.

This is following several incidents and accidents due to potholes around the country.

The launch of the special platform will now enable members of the public to report cases of potholes around the city so that swift remedial action can be taken.

The launching ceremony was officiated by Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin yesterday. Also present were the Council Secretary and other heads of departments.

“With this new application (app), members of the public can now report incidents of potholes around the city.

“We have also rolled out the various procedures for the public to follow when reporting cases of potholes,” said Rumaizi adding that the application will commence from Jan 18.

He also added that Ipohites can also check on the council’s Facebook, Instagram and twitter on the proper usage of the platform.

“We will do a review in two weeks time to ascertain the effectiveness of this portal and also are open to feedback from members of the public.

“I hope the respondents will provide us with accurate and genuine information so that the matter can be resolved swiftly,” he added.

With potholes making the headlines lately, the Ipoh City Council has surely taken the initiative to launch this unique app.

Kudos to Ipoh City Council for their proactive initiative which will lead the way for other city councils to follow their shining example.
