The Ipoh City Council will impose a hefty fine of RM1,000 on anyone who carries out illegal dumping.
In a press statement today, the council expressed its frustration that a number of people are still dumping rubbish without concern or care for the environment.
As such, effectively, Aug 3, 2022 anyone found faltering will be fined.
They will also not entertain any appeals against the imposition under the Roads, Drains & Buildings Act.
The council further reiterated that the practice of the few individuals is causing a bad image to the city.
The council also reminds all citizens to be more responsible towards making Ipoh the Cleanest City in Malaysia 2023 as well as the Best Local Authority in Malaysia.
