The inaugural Malaysia Women Marathon 2022 (MCIS Life) saw the participation of some 2,000 runners.
Despite the rain, the runners braved the weather to complete the run.
Flagging off the event was State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.
Also present was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin, Ragunath Murthy, MCIS Life’s Chief Distribution & Marketing Officer and other dignitaries.
Competition was held for the 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km (duo) categories. Men were also allowed to participate.
Winners were presented with medals and other goodies.
It is hoped that such an event will help boost Ipoh as a tourist destination.
