Ambassadors from five South American countries paid a visit to Ipoh recently.
They were from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba and Peru.
Their visit was to explore joint venture initiatives and potential business opportunities between both parties.
Among their stops was at Vale Malaysia Minerals in Seri Manjung near here.
They also visited the Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT) to take a first hand look at the operations.
Vale, one of the world’s largest mining companies, is a leading global producer of iron ore and nickel. Its USD1.4 billion investment in TRMT remains the largest investor in Perak.
On hand was Chief Executive Officer of Vale in Malaysia, Rodrigo Ribeiro de Araújo to welcome the VIP guests. He also added that since their operations in the state, they have allocated close to MYR60 million on various socio environmental and other corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.
Vale is headquartered in headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
