The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah offered parise to the Perak Menteri Besar, Dato Saarani Mohamad during the opening of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) yesterday.
IN his royal address, Sultan Nazrin commended Dato’ Saarani Mohamad for being an exemplary figure in minimising political disputes.
“In the interest of citizens, agendas such as economic prosperity, state development and social well-being must be prioritised.
“Albeit a small step, this courageous move by the MB made it possible for all members to participate, directly and constructively, in formulating governance that meets citizens’ needs in an effective and meaningful manner, which has set a precedent in the state administration.
“If nurtured, this initial step will pave the way to a new and superior political culture that is less confrontational.”
“Reciprocate and appreciate this new culture by embodying a mature spirit of teamwork, mutual respect and helping each other with efforts undertaken in the state and citizens’ interests.
“In addition, work together to cultivate the spirit of unity and citizenship among those of various races, those who profess various religions, those who practice various cultures and those who master various languages,” he stated.
Sultan Nazrin expressed his gratitude to state executive councillors and other parties involved who have joined hands in developing Perak.
