Those who have had their two doses of the covid-19 vaccine can not only travel interstate but also can travel overseas.
Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakop made the long awaited announcement in a special telecast today.
“The government has agreed to allow interstate travel for those who have had their two vaccine doses.
“We are also allowing overseas travel for those who have had their two doses, however we remind everyone to follow SOPs.
“However, tourists from foreign countries cannot come in as our borders are still closed.
“Although there will not be large-scale roadblocks on the highway, the police can still carry out checks at the R&R areas.
“We will now enter the endemic stage and remind people to follow SOPs strictly at all times,” he said.
He also reminded those who have not had their vaccines to do so as soon as possible.
“The reality is that we have to live with the covid-19 and take care of ourselves with strict SOPs being adhered.
“We will not also close the economic and tourism sector although cases increase in any particular area,” he assured.
