A total of RM581,350 has been collected from 704 fines issued for illegal dumping activities from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2021 by the Ipoh City Council.
In the meantime, in order to educate members of the public on responsible disposal of their waste and rubbish, some 176 notice boards have been put up around the city.
It also includes 12 gotong royong projects with the public and NGOs.
Overall, a total of 24,848 illegal dumping sites have been cleared by the Ipoh City Council.
In the meantime, the Ipoh City Council also reminded members of the public not to practice illegal dumping or else they will face a RM250 compound.
The council also reminded the general public to dispose of their rubbish in a responsible manner. To this regard, they also distributed thousands of free rubbish bins to residents in various housing areas.
