Some 100 media practitioners from Perak, Perlis, Kelantan & Terengganu were hosted to the Southern Thailand media day gathering.
The three-day event was held in Hatyai, Thailand.
Lending support was the Raja Muda of Perlis,Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who also launched the dialogue session and hosted a dinner for the participants.
On the first day, the Communications officer of Ipoh City Council and manager of the council’s radio & TV station represented Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin.
Syahrizal is also the president of the Media Practitioners Association in Perak.
Among the topics of discussion was “Tourism from the perspective of the Media”.
Other programs included a workshop and the role of the media on tourism between Malaysia-Thailand.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the The Press Association Of Southern Thailand dan Perlis Press Association, and also Tourism Matching between tourism operators of Malaysia- Southern.
The trip had also facilitated media members from both sides to acquaint themselves with sources for news gathering and further cooperation.
