Some 2,000 residents from Ipoh Barat constituency had something to cheer for this Deepavali when its Member of Parliament, M. Kulasegaran distributed cash aid and goodies to them to celebrate the festival at the Deepavali Open House held at the Indian Recreation Club here last Saturday.
The event also saw the crowd entertained to cultural shows and songs from various races.
Kulasegaran also thanked a group of Orang Asli community performers who came from Simpang Pulai and Kampar.
It is an opportunity for everyone irrespective of racial background to understand the culture of other communities.
It is time to celebrate and enjoy the festive season.
