The Ipoh Low Carbon Day was held for the 74th time which saw the participation of some 2,000 city  residents today. (Oct 27)

Several events were also held including exhibition booths and exhibitions. 

The event started off at 7.30am with the Ipoh Bestari Sejahtera Ride 2024 organised by Ipoh City Council followed by World Stroke Day Fun Run 2024 by Malaysia Stroke Council with the cooperation of Perak Health Department.

Participants took part in the two events which were officiated by Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and State Health Department Deputy Director  (medical) Dr Roniyuzam Abd Malek.

Participants who finished the 20 kilometres in the Bestari Sejahtera Ride received a total cash prize of RM5,000 in the lucky draw. 

The Low Carbon Day is a commitment by the council to achieve the country’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emission by 45 percent come 2030.
