In an effort to forge a close rapport with Ipoh City and Hatyai, Ipoh City Council organised a three-day working visit to Hatyai from Nov 21.
The visit included 39 delegates among the media representatives from the state.
The group was led by Councillor Muhammad Hamzah Md Hamdan who represented the ipoh City mayor. He is also the council’s Information and Media sub committee chairman.
The delegation visited Hatyai City Municipality to explore opportunities and cooperation in media programmes, broadcasts and tourism between Ipoh City and South Thailand.
Later a session to exchange ideas on tourist promotion was held at Hotel BP Grand Central.
It was hosted jointly by Perak and Southern Thailand Muhibbah Media Council.
Those who attended were Muhammad Hamzah, council’s Public Relations Officer and council’s Radio TV manager Mohd Syahrizal Azmi, President of Media Sports and Welfare Club, Rosli Mansor while the host were represented by Songkla Regional Senator Chai Ong Maneerungsakul who is also the Southern Thailand Media Association President and Acting Deputy President of the association who is also South Thailand Foreign Affairs Association Bureau Chief, Daniya and Hatyai Municipality Deputy Mayor, the Sumrit Boonrat.
The session was a opportunity for media representatives to discuss and find ways to enhance the tourism industry in both countries
This would lead to potential collaboration and share knowledge and experiences between the two cities.
