Continuing their tradition of giving and spreading smiles this Chinese New Year, Sunway Group treated some 100 children from all around the Perak state to a magical day at Lost World Of Tambun.
The kids were greeted by the team from the Sunway Group.
The children from five homes had a memorable experience at the theme park in addition to hearty meals and a string of meaningful activities, including a super adventure race, telematch games, a guided tour of the Lost World Of Tambun petting zoo, and entertaining stage games.
Each child also received a gift comprising school supplies, toys, and essential items. Sunway has extended its support and distributed:
• Groceries to 19 children’s homes in Perak in February.
• Food baskets to 600 families across Johor, Penang, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur.
“Just as snakes shed their old skin as they mature, we too shall learn from experience, embrace new challenges and strive to be a better version of ourselves in the new year”, said Sunway Property CEO (Central & Northern Region), Chong Sau Min on the significance of giving back to the community.
Since its inception, #SunwayforGood has touched the lives of over half a million beneficiaries and aims to touch millions more throughout the country in the years to come.
These nationwide CSR programmes have positively impacted more than 25,000 beneficiaries across the state.
“We don’t just run a home; we’re like a family. I see these boys as my own, and I treat them like a father would. Today’s celebration really meant a lot to them, and to us. It shows them they’re not alone, and that there are people out there who care and believe in their future. That kind of love and encouragement is what keeps them going”, said James, orphanage director at Good Shepherd Community Home.
Chong Zhi En, a child from Pertubuhan Pengerusan Pusat Jagaan 1 Malaysia said, “I loved playing with the snakes today! They were so cool, and I wasn’t scared at all. It’s the Year of the Snake, so it felt extra special to hold one!”
As part of #SunwayforGood initiative, the Chinese New Year celebration at Lost World Of Tambun marks just one example of how Sunway continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.
