The Club Roots roadshow for 2025 will make its first stop for the year in Ipoh, Perak.

The down memory lane gathering featuring hits of days gone by and retro music will be held at the WEIL Hotel @ The Deck on Saturday, Feb 15, 2025.

On show will be the yesteryear deejays from the “Town That Tin Built” who featured at the various clubs during the height of Ipoh’s vibrant nightlife.

Leading the charge will be veteran deejay KT Pillai, the versatile emcee, stand up comedian and also public speaking trainer.

He is a popular figure in the city’s various government, corporate and private events. 

He used to work at the Time Zone Club in Ipoh Garden East which drew a large crowd nightly enjoying the music of the Eighties and the Nineties.

Next will be Damian Nagalingam who used to work at the Party Box Club in Ipoh Garden South. He is also a well travelled emcee in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Langkawi and Johor Bahru.

Next is deejay Spike who featured at the Palm Groove Club at the Royal Casuarina Hotel in its heyday, deejay Logen who worked at the Y2K Club in Ipoh Garden East and DJ Ariff who is known from his party days at the Tin Mine KL.

They will be joined by LITE FM’s host and announcer – Phat Fabes. For the Ipoh-born, radio personality, it will be a happy home coming to meet up with friends and acquaintances.

Meanwhile, the gathering will also offer a perfect opportunity for fans of the retro era to meet up and also those deejays who had performed during the bygone era.

Each will be performing for an hour each to bring hit numbers from the 80’s and 90’s and take you down memory lane.

We wonder where many of them are now ?

Anyway, moving forward, last year, the Club Roots roadshow featured in hit KL, Penang and Malacca to entertain party goers with tons of memorable songs and hits.

Show time is from 7pm onwards and admission is free.
