Micro entrepreneurs can apply for grants under the Perak Sejahtera Entrepreneur Grant (GeRAK) when applications are opened online on April 7 until May 31, 2025.
Perak Women, Family, Social Welfare, Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Committee Chairman Datuk Salbiah Mohamed said the grants is a “one off” payment of RM2,000 in the form of equipment and machines for their business in manufacturing and service fields.
“This includes training, courses and also to enhance marketing and branding aspects.
“The state government has allocated RM1.5 million for the purpose and we target about 750 recipients.
“The applicants could apply at Perak Entrepreneur Information System through https://step.perak.my“, she said in her speech at the launch of GeRAK 2025 and buka puasa event here on March 25.
According to her the grant would assist the entrepreneurs to face the challenges and also expand their business market.
It will also increase productivity including digital economic aspects.
Salbiah noted the assistance would also create new income to the people of the state especially those who are starting an entrepreneur field.
She also stressed entrepreneurs must stay connected with entrepreneurship related agencies, the State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STeP) for latest information and updates.
“Don’t miss out on the opportunity when applications are opened,”she added.
In 2023, a total of 771 micro entrepreneurs had benefited from the grant and the following year 713 applicants were successful.
The implementation of GeRAK is one of the initiatives to support Pelan Perak Sejahtera 2030.
