Zamakhshari Hanipah has been named as the new mayor of Ipoh City.
He received his appointment letters from Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamed earlier today.
Zamakhshari is the former deputy director-general of National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma Disaster Preparation and Planning).
He will now replace Datuk Rumazi Baharin who had completed his term as the mayor of Ipoh City.
During his career, Zamakhshari had also served as the District Officer of Hulu Perak, Gerik among other positions.
