In conjunction with the Teachers Day celebrations, McDonald’s Jalan Gopeng, Ipoh hosted some 40 teachers from SJK (C) Gunong Rapat and SJK (C) Min Sin, Ampang Baru at their outlet yesterday.
This is part of the fast food chain’s appreciation to educators from 300 schools nationwide throughout the month of May.
Teachers’ Day falls on May 16.
The gathering reflects McDonald’s ongoing commitment to recognising teachers in communities both large and small.
As a way of giving back to the communities it serves, McDonald’s restaurants nationwide are proactively reaching out to nearby schools to organise appreciation events and honour local educators.
This event is part of Program Komuniti @ McDonald’s, the company’s long standing community outreach Initiative, through which over 10,000 programmes are carried out annually nationwide.
McDonald’s Malaysia has been celebrating Teachers Day since 2017, making 2025 the ninth consecutive year of this initiative.
McDonald’s Jalan Gopeng General Manager, Nor Amira Nor Azami said”: it is an honour for the restaurant to play host to the teachers and show gratitude to them who help shape the next generation.
“A teacher’s role is vital not only teaching in classes but also love, guidance and inspiration showered upon the students daily,”she added.
The restaurant also presented mock cheques of RM5,000 each to the two schools for improvements of teachers’ rooms.
Apart from interaction between the restaurant employees, several activities were also held including cat walk, games and limbo rock.
They were also treated to McDonald’s meals in an atmosphere of appreciation and community spirit.
Syabas to McDonald’s for hosting the meaningful programme.
