The management of SJK(T) Klebang can breathe a sigh of relief as construction of an additional building had taken off ground to meet the demand of the high enrolment of pupils and facilities.

The school has 500 pupils, the highest number among Tamil schools in Perak.

Recently Senior Special Officer to Tambun MP, Datuk R. Suresh Kumar laid the foundation stone for the three storey building with 12 classrooms  costing RM3.5 million recently.

The allocation had been approved by the Madani Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also Tambun MP.

The school which operated on estate land nearby in 1912  moved to the present premises in 1995.

The construction of the new building was stalled due to changes in Government several times.

The allocation had been channelled to Yayasan Didik Negara to implement the project. The project is expected to be completed in one year.
