The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Perak Chapter celebrated its 115th anniversary by hosting a dinner to strengthen and connect the business community at WEIL Hotel recently.

The event brought together business leaders, government representatives, members, sponsors, and partners to mark more than a century of contribution to Perak’s business community.

The anniversary marks a significant milestone for MICCI Perak, reflecting 115 years of relationship , trust and commitment to the business community.

Throughout it’s history,the Chamber has remained a platform for business to connect, exchange ideas,engage with Government and build stronger business networks.

A key highlight was the presentation of the 40-year Long Standing Membership Awards to Hexza Corporation Berhad and HSBC Bank, a recognition for four decades of commitment to MICCI.

Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee who officiated the event said:”The chamber has been part of the state’s business landscape through generations of economic change.

“From the early days of tin mining and commodities, through industrialisation and now into an increasingly technology -driven and globally connected economy.

“Our focus is no longer simply attracting investment..we want quality investments that create high-value employment, strengthen local supply chains, develop talent and position Perak more firmly within regional and global value chains,” he added.

Meanwhile MICCI Perak Chairman Jean-Francois Chaveriat in his speech urged the business community not to be complacent, the business environment are confronted with very aggressive regional and global competition 

“This situation affects our  profitability and puts in question our existence. Public tensions, trade disputes and conflicts can quickly disrupt supply chains and international markets. The ability to remain agile and adapt quickly has become essential,” he added.
