The Ipoh City Council brought the Deepavali atmosphere through its 2026 Pelita Deepavali programme at Lorong Seni @ Lorong Panglima here recently.
The council’s Community and Social Services Department which organised the event was to celebrate the festival and the unique culture of the Indian community
At the same time, the gathering helps promote harmony and unity among the people in the city.
Several activities were carried out including from Perak Culture and Arts Department, council’s MBI Gema Warisan Budaya group, sales of handicraft and a kolam drawing competition.
The programme reflected the council’s commitment to preserve the cultural heritage, forge greater unity and mutual respect among the multi racial society .
Present were Ipoh City Council councillors Lawrence Palanisamy, Sivam Kalimuthu, Culture and Arts Department Director Hisham Mat Husien and Council’s Community Services Department Director Romzi Zamri.
