Ipoh City’s latest tourism product is the Petting Zoo at Gunung Lang which is part of the Kinta Geopark.
The new venue for visitors boasts of some 800 animals from 25 species for visitors to get close and personal.
For city dwellers and their children, this is the perfect opportunity to get close to nature and animals.
Ipoh Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin officiated the pre-launch yesterday.
Rumaizi added that the zoo was built at a cost of RM1 million on a 1.8 hectare site.
The operating hours are from 10am to 6pm daily where guests can touch animals like rabbits, iguanas, raccoons, birds, ponies, ostrich and chickens.
Tickets are priced at RM6 for adults and children aged two and above.
“This zoo provides opportunities to the locals and domestic tourists, to get close to or play with the animals like raccoons, rabbits, porcupines, birds, snakes and other species,” said Rumaizi.
