New Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Saarani Mohamad is wasting no time to make Ipoh the center of business activity in the country.
This is following the much anticipated opening of the RM425 million Ipoh International Convention Centre (IICC) expected next month.
The IICC is located next to the Ipoh City Council in the heart of the city.
On hand to launch the ceremony was Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin along with officials from Bond Holdings and Sycal Bhd.
The 28,000 sq ft centre will house banquet halls for corporate events and dinners and other conferences.
The centre will also house a five-star hotel and serviced apartments.
“We always welcome strategic cooperation between local government/authorities and the private sector to benefit the community overall.
“I am confident that the IICC will be a new landmark in the city and also offer a much needed modern working environment for all,” said Saarani in his speech.
He also added that the venture will offer job opportunities and attract more investment to the Silver state.
