What a commendable effort by Perak MB Inc.
Mindful of these difficult times when computers and laptops are the main tools for study online, they rounded up all of their used laptops to be presented to the Rotary Clubs here in Ipoh.
In all, a total of eight laptops were collected and presented to representatives of the Rotary Club of Ipoh South and Rotary Club of Greentown.
The chief operating officer of MB Inc, Nor Afzanizam Abd Manan made the presentation to the Assistant Governor of Rotary Club Malaysia, Kamarul Dato’ Mohamad Arif.
Also present was Jiva Kandasamy vice president of Rotary Club of Greentown and Pathma Devi president of Rotary Club of Ipoh South.
The laptops will especially be vital to the kids from the B40 group in their studies.
“We view this corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort as a timely move as the kids are in need of laptops to continue their education,” said Nor Afzanizam.
He also added that MB Inc is among the first government linked companies (GLC) to respond during this pandemic to collect as many used computers and laptops to be channelled to the needy.
“The computers were refurbished before handing them over to the Rotary Clubs. We hope that more GLCs will come forward to present their used computers for the benefit of the needy community,” he added.
He also said that MB Inc is committed to assist low income families and their dependents irrespective of race or religion.
“We hope our contribution will help turn out outstanding students in the near future,” he said.
To-date MB Inc has presented some 100 used computers worth RM60,00 towards the well being of those in need.
Other GLCs in the state are also welcome to contribute to the worthy cause.
