Some 100 members of the media in Ipoh were hosted to a media night gathering at the Galasa, Jalan Caldwell by the Ipoh City Council.
Ipoh mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin and his team were on hand to welcome the guests.
The event also served as a platform for the signing ceremony between the council and Luncai Emas Publishing Sdn Bhd to promote the city as a musical destination.
Among the guests were Brigadier Jeneral Mohd Azmurin Mat Khalib, Panglima 2 Briged, Dato.M.Nasir and the managing director of Luncai Emas Publishing Sdn. Bhd, Norliza Salleh.
In his speech, Rumaizi thanked the media for converting the correct message to the public at large.
He also urged media members to play their role to build a better society.
“I appreciate the mutual understanding between the media and the council to share the information to the community.
“I hope the cooperation with both parties will be long tasting,” said Rumaizi adding that he is also looking forward to meeting the various heads of the media and other programmes arranged with the local media.
Guests are also entertained by renowned local singer M. Nasir.
