Several private associations and a business entity brought early cheers for 86 orphans from three homes to shop for their Hari Raya clothings at The Store supermarket Jalan Kampar here  on March 22.

They went on a shopping spree for items worth RM150 for each child accompanied by club officials and company officials together with the staff of the homes.

Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang and Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad joined hands to ensure the orphans will enjoy the festive season with new clothings and shoes  of their choice.

They are from Madrasah Maahad Tahfiz Darul Zakirin(31), Pertubuhan Kebajikan Cahaya Kasih Kinta (18) and Pertubuhan Badan Kebajikan Anak Anak Yatim Darulsalam Ipoh  (37).

Kelab President Councillor Muhammad Hamzah Hamdan said:” this is part of our programmes to assist the unfortunate, especially orphans .

“We want them to celebrate Raya with happiness like others,”he added.

He noted that this year Takaful Ikhlas  collaborated with the club to carry out  the event.

The orphans also received duit raya apart from goodie bags from  The Store management.

Meanwhile, Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad Assistant Vice President Azhar Abdul Rahman said,”this is the first time we have come together with this club to carry out the project.

“We want to bring some shine to the children who will be able to join in the celebration.

“The cooperation will also forge a close rapport with the club,”he added 

Takaful Ikhlas also presented two mock cheques to the club.
