The Ipoh City Council’s achievements and recognition has attracted a local authority from China to pick up some pointers.

Madam Ye Zheng Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Wuxi Municipal People’s Government headed a delegation to visit MBI recently.

On hand to receive the group was MBI’s Senior Director of Services Meor Abdullah Zaidi Meor Razali who represented Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah.

Also present were the council’s councillors and officers. Various discussions were held and ideas were exchanged among the two sides.

The focus  was the recognition of Ipoh as the UNESCO Creative City Network (UCCN).

Ipoh has been recognized as one of the cities to join the UCCN in the music category. The visit is expected to strengthen bilateral ties between the two cities.

Wuxi is a city in southern Jiangsu province, Eastern China is a prominent historical and cultural city of China and has been a thriving economic center since ancient times as a production and export hub of rice, silk and textiles.
