Some 50 children of Ipoh City Council staff who are from the B40 category and 20 orphans from Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Anak – Anak Yatim Al Yassin received duit raya in conjunction with Hari Raya celebrations at an event at Green Green Restaurant in Meru recently.
Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud made the presentation at the event organised by the council and A2Z Charity Organisation with the cooperation of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sehati Ipoh, Perak.
Also present were founder of A2Z Charity Organisation, Jeff Lai and President of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Sejati, Ipoh, Perak, Florence Cheong.
Rumaizi in his speech praised the two organisations who worked with the council to carry out the Corporate Social Responsibility especially Program MBI Prihatin.
He hoped more NGOs and Corporate Organisations would emulate the efforts of the two associations in helping and supporting the city folks who need assistance.
He also commended the media for assisting the council yearly to encourage more people to supermarkets, hotels and NGOs to come forward to contribute and sponsor programmes for the wellbeing of the city folks who lack support and assistance.
