The Consul General of Japan in Penang Mr Machida Shinya made a courtesy call on Ipoh Mayor yesterday.
He was greeted by Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah at the Ipoh City Council.
The main aim of the visit was to foster better understanding and relationships.
Mr Machida also signed the visitor’s book and discussed matters of mutual interest with the mayor.
It is hoped that the meeting will lead to beneficial outcomes for both parties in terms of cooperation and goodwill.
