Some 700 people attended a Deepavali Dinner hosted by Malim Nawar assemblywoman Bavani Veraiah at SJK (C) Mambang Diawan, Kampar on Saturday.
Also present were Kampar Member of Parliament Chong Zhemin, Perak State Communication, Multimedia and NGO Commitee Chairman and Tualang Sekah assemblyman Mohd Azlan Helmi and Keranji assemblywoman Angeline Koo Haai Yew.
The guests were treated to a variety of food and also entertained by singers and dancers.
Also at the function, SJK (T) Ladang Kampar and SJK (T) Mambang Diawan received a donation of RM5,000 each from Bavani for the pupils welfare, learning and other activities.
A total of 82 lucky draw prizes were also given out to the people. The children were also presented with pocket money.
