A delegation of students and accompanied by officers from Japan under the Ipoh-Fukuoka Twin City Student Exchange Programme arrived in Ipoh for a two day stay starting from August 19.
SMK Raja Chulan Ipoh played hosts and was the adopted school for seven students and three accompanying officers from Fukuoka.
The event provided an opportunity to the students to interact and understand the Japanese culture as well as introduce Malaysian culture to the visitors.
It also enhances the communication skills of the students through language and foster spirit, unity and harmony through cultural exchange.
The programme ended with cultural performances by the SMK Raja Chulan students which included Dikit Barat, Gamelan and Soran Bushi dances.
Present were the school’s principal Jamil Dayan, Ipoh City Council’s Community Department Director, Romzi Zamri, Perak Education Department’s Principal Assistant Director, Fakhrul Nizam Pakhruddin, Accompanying officer, Motoi Tachibana and SMK Raja Chulan Parent Teacher Association President Datuk Mohd Hussin Abdullah.
