Launching of Trash4cash centre

The very first “Trash4cash” centre in the state was launched by Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin recently.

Also present was Majuperak Utilities Management Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Azmi Amin Sarji and Ipoh City Council secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak.

The automatic recycling centre is part of the Ipoh City Council’s role to promote a green and healthy environment.

The recycling centre will also go a long way in ensuring the well-being of the residents.

The public / private venture is one of the strategies of the Ipoh City Council’s aspirations to be a “Smart and Green City” 2030.

In line with technological developments, all of the functions at the recycling centre are automated.

The centre will operate 24-hours throughout the year on a “Do It Youself” concept.

There are also tips on the guidelines to operate the recycling centre for the benefit of the general public.

More such centres will be set up throughout the city and state.

Proceeds from the recycling can also be used as premium for personal accident insurance policies for the benefit of those who are not eligible.

Corporate citizens are also encouraged to utilize these facilities.
