Anticipation and excitement is high among tourism stakeholders in Ipoh following the announcement that the first Hard Rock Cafe will open by end of this year.
The opening will mark the first International brand to set foot in the city.
Present to announce the news was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin accompanied by Malcolm Chao, Area Vice President for Asia Pacific Hard Rock Cafe International and Johnny Lau, Tiong Nam Senior General Manager Group Hotel and Hospitality.
Rumaizi hoped that the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe in Ipoh will also help create awareness for the Visit Ipoh Year 2023, Visit Perak Year 2024 and Visit Malaysia Year 2025.
“I also hope that the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe in Ipoh will promote tourism in Ipoh and Perak and will contribute to the economy of the state,” he said.
Meanwhile, the media frenzy was even greater as the press conference was jam packed with the local media fraternity.
The Rock Shop at Palo 101 located at Jalan Sultan Iskandar, will be the first phase of Hard Rock Cafe Ipoh’s opening. They will offer a dynamic dining experience, iconic music memorabilia.
Among the top collectors of Hard Rock pins in Ipoh is Rizal who has been collecting the pins for the past 10 years. He was also at the Pinfest 2023 at the Hard Rock Cafe Penang recently.
Presently, Hard Rock brand is located in Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Penang.
