The Minister of Housing and Local Government YB Nga Kor Ming made a visit to areas badly affected by the flooding in Ipoh.
Among the areas he visited was the Fair Park and its vicinity.
Also present was YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, the assemblywoman for Canning and Deputy State Assembly Speaker and Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin and team.
Nga approved an allocation of RM108. 5 million for flood mitigation work and bunds along Sungai Kinta and also for Kampar.
According to him, the allocation is aimed at avoiding recent incidents in the Fair Park area and a long term solution for the flood problem in the area.
He also gave out allocation of pillows to residents affected by the floods.
During last Sunday floods, water levels had risen by 1.5 metres in the area which has not been seen in recent history.
