The Ipoh City Council (MBI) wishes to inform all city residents that the iconic “IPOH” sign along Kuala Kangsar Road has been safely dismantled to allow for inspection, repair and restoration works.
This measure has been taken to ensure that the structure and physical condition of the sign remain in good, safe and well-maintained condition, as it is one of the proud landmarks of Ipoh City.
Reinstallation of the “IPOH” sign is expected to be carried out in stages from 4 to 6 August 2026, subject to weather conditions and the smooth progress of work on site.
MBI seeks the cooperation and patience of all city residents throughout the duration of these works. The Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
