The Ipoh City Council will spend RM4 million to make Kinta Riverwalk the latest tourist attraction in the city.
This will include upgrading and other beautification programmes at the park.
Ipoh mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, said that the Kinta Riverwalk spans around 3.5km from the start (facing Kinta Riverfront Hotel) to the end (facing Cititel Express Hotel). Work will commence on the last 400 metre section of the park next week onwards subject to MCO,” he said.
In the meantime he also added that the temporary licence for roadside hawkers and traders will be only RM10. This is to help them make a living during these difficult times.
In another development, media members in the city had a durian feast when they were presented with durians courtesy of state exco for Agriculture, Plantations and Food Security Razman Zakaria,
He said that it was to show appreciation to media members in Ipoh.
“The media has also contributed a lot during the pandemic since they have risked their lives to bring coverage and news during the pandemic,” he said.
