The Ipoh City Council working with several corporate citizens like Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK), Econsave, Daboba Berhad and Bonanza Ventures Holding Sdn Bhd (BVH) have been carrying out food aid projects to needy residents tirelessly.
At a recent aid programme some 300 food baskets worth RM40 each were presented to representatives of the Memory Lane community.
Present were Ipoh mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin and state exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato Nolee Ashilin Dato Mohammad Radzi.
This time around, the food baskets were sponsored by M/S Fuze Development ZK Sdn Bhd.
At the same time, the Ipoh City Council committee for the underprivileged also contributed ten cupboards and a washing machine to Rumah Teduhan Kelana located along Jalan Dato Onn Jaafar.
The home housed some 220 people under the preview of the Welfare Department.
To-date a total of RM750,000 worth of food and assistance has been distributed by the Ipoh City Council to the needy in the city since the implementation of the MCO.
