In line with making Ipoh a smart City, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Telekom Malaysia Berhad formed a collaboration.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) with TM ONE, the business-to-business arm of Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin along with the Executive Vice President of TM ONE, Shazurawati Abd Karim were on hand.
“Via this cooperation, various initiatives have been planned and implemented for the wellbeing, sustainability and benefit of Ipohites. the implementation of the Smart Traffic programme along Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, which is currently in its trial period, is the first.
“The move has been able to ease 51% of traffic flow especially at peak time.
“Besides that, the rate of carbon emission along Jalan Sultan Idris Shah has successfully been reduced up to 7,500 kilograms a month in line with the vision of making Ipoh a carbon-free city by 2030.
“Secondly, Force, which is a digital system compiling complaints and analysis, is able to provide customer satisfaction especially for Ipohites.Through Force MBI, it can detect and assist all complaints and provide the necessary response.
“Third is the Centre Call, which is in line with MBI’s aspiration to offer the best service to the people. This system is able to seek solutions, reducing the number of unanswered calls and can react immediately to people’s needs,” read the press statement.
