Ipoh City Council took a step further in tackling corruption, the first local authority in the country to prepare the council’s Anti-Corruption Eradication Strategy (ICCAs).

This is in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s message to combat corruption when he launched the National Anti Corruption Strategy (NACS) 2024-2028.

The launch of the strategy was officiated by Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud at the council’s building yesterday.

Also present were Perak MACC Ahmad Sabri Mohamed, Perak State Secretariat Human Resources Division Secretary Mohd Azraie Harun, council secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak, councillors, senior officers and heads of departments.

The mayor in his speech hoped that the council’s workforce will be committed and shoulder the aspirations to ensure the country is free of corruption.

He also thanked MACC and the State Secretariat for allowing the development of the ICCAs.

He also commended tbe support and commitment from all the council’s departments to ensure transparency and effective service to achieve the council’s objective.

ICCACS is one of the efforts to inculcate the integrity culture among the council’s employees in serving the public.
