With National Day celebrations approaching, Ipoh City Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud launched the fly Jalur Gemilang ceremony at the Ipoh City Council building here today (Aug 21).
Among the activities were singing of the national anthem,
the Perak State anthem and the council’s song.
Earlier Rumaizi inspected a guard of honour mounted by council’s enforcement personnel.
He later handed over the Jalur Gemilang to councillors, heads of departments and the enforcement team.
A total of 4,000 notices were sent out to Government offices and private sector premises to urge them to fly some 7,000 national flags.
In line with this year’s theme “Malaysia Madani: Determination of unity fulfils hope” it will bring unity, peace and well being to the city residents and at the same time achieve more success for the present and future generation.
