Some 100 children whose parents are employees of the Ipoh City Council were presented with school uniforms in preparation for the new school term.
They were transported to the Canggih Sutera Sdn Bhd outlet in Ampang Baru where they were fitted with the necessary uniforms.
The kids also received other school necessities under the Ipoh City Council’s “Back To School Programme”.
Council secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak was on hand at the simple presentation ceremony.
Also present was the managing director of the outlet, Rozamir Zulkifli along with Rohayah Abd Kadir, Director of Services and Normala Latiff, Director of Community Affairs.
Funds for the corporate social responsibility (CSR) project were undertaken by the council to ease the burden of the Council’s personnel.
Such initiatives have been ongoing since the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
So far, more than RM1 million had been allocated by the Council to assist businesses, communities, residents and council workers.
Many times, the Council had partnered with Econsave and other generous corporate sponsors to carry out such community based projects.
Syabas to the Ipoh City Council to be mindful of the burden faced by the underprivileged community and business sector in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
