Some 520 rubbish bins have been set up by the Ipoh City Council to ensure the cleanliness of the city.
The bins are located around the heritage enclave of the city.
Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaiz Baharin was on hand along with council secretary Ahmad Munir to launch the event at Dataran Warisan Dato’ Sagor this morning.
“We have made available some 520 dustbins for the use of the members of the public and places where visitors frequent to make it convenient for them to dispose of rubbish. This initiative is in line with making the city cleaner and greener ,” said Dato Rumaizi.
He also added that inculcating civic consciousness will go a long way to keep the city fresh and clean.
“Once cleanliness becomes a habit of our residents, I am sure that Ipoh will soon become a top destination as a clean city in line with our aspirations of becoming the “Cleanest City In Malaysia by 2023″,” he added.
In keeping with his busy day programmes, Dato Rumaizi also launched the blood donation campaign at the AEON Mall in Kinta City later in the morning.
