Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin took the lead to showcase the attractions of the city at the Expo Dubai 2020.
THe prestigious event will run for six months, from October 2021 till March 31, 2022.
To-date, some 2.9 million visitors have converged at the expo with representatives from 192 countries.
Among the products showcased at the expo are the Kinta Riverwalk, TT5 Tin Dredge and Ipoh Geo Park.
In the meantime, three memorandum of understanding (MOU) were signed at the event.
They were with the Ipoh City Council and Chang Jiang International Sdn. Bhd. (Bandar Kopi Ipoh), Mansion Machinery Sdn. Bhd (Tasik Cermin Pelancongan Eko & Agro) dan Evergreen Monies Sdn. Bhd (Pelancongan Eko).
The promotion is expected to bring more tourists to Ipoh City.
According to State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato Nolee Ashilin Mohammad Radzi, they have targeted some 14 million visitors to visit Ipoh.
In 2022, several new attraction are to be showcased in Ipoh, among them are the Kinta RiverWalk, ‘Light & Sound’ at Padang Ipoh, Tasik Cermin at Gunung Rapat, Amphitheatre at Taman DR Seenivasagam and the serta Geotrail at Gunung Masoorat.
Another project is the “Art in The City ” which is a collaboration between Ipoh City Council, CENDANA and Tin City.
Meanwhile, MB Inc. also introduced the TT5 Maze Park along with a mini zoo and other attractions.
The Ipoh City Council is committed to assist the state to further grow the tourism sector for the state.
