The Ipoh City Council became the only local council to win two awards, the Diamond award and the Low Carbon City Award 2021 organised by the Ministry of Environment and Water recently.
The awards are presented by the Ministry through the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC).
Present to receive the award was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin himself.
Rumaizi said that the win was encouraging and inspiring to the council and its workers.
“We were recognised for Town Planning and the UTC Perak,” he said.
This is the second year running that the Ipoh City Council has won these awards.
The presentation ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Environment and Water, YB Dato Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
The awards will further motivate the Ipoh City Council to achieve its goal of a low carbon city.
