The Ipoh City Council is going great lengths to provide 5G internet services to residents.
A special briefing was held at the Ipoh Integrated Operation Centre (IIOP) recently in this regard.
Attending the event was State Exco for Local Housing and Local Government Sandrea Ng Shy Ching along with Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin.
Also present were representatives from several non-governmental agencies and State Exco for Communication and Multimedia Mohd Azlan Helmi.
The Ipoh City Council has kickstarted some 14 related projects todate in line with its Smart City aspirations.
The programme will utilise the latest technologies via Artificial Intelligence (AI and Internet of Thing (IoT).
Among the areas that 5G services are already available are the Ipoh City centre, Klebang, Bercham, Tambun, Canning Garden, Ipoh Garden, Ampang, Gunung Rapat and Pasir Pinji.
In line with this, there are also Smart Traffic Lights at the Jalan Sultan Idris Shah/Jalan Laksamana junction, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah/Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar junction,Jalan Sultan Idris Shah/Jalan Raja Musa Aziz junction and Jalan Sultan Idris Shah/Jalan Raja Ekram interchange.
Meanwhile, Smart LED street lights will also be installed to provide brighter lighting with lower costs.
Kudos to the Ipoh City Council on planning for far reaching projects to benefit the local residents.
