Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin was on hand at the “Back to School” programme for students going back to the new school term.
Some 50 children from the employees of the Ipoh City Council who are also in the B40 group were presented with RM160 each and other essentials.
Also present were other heads of departments from the Ipoh City Council.
It is hoped that the contributions will enlighten the burden of these families.

In the meantime earlier, Dato Rumaizi also joined Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Teo Nie Ching for a walkabout around the Perak Stadium food court to meet the people.
Many of the customers at the stalls were pleasantly surprised when the entourage went over to their tables to greet them.
This is the true sense of “turun padang”.
