Although it was the Chinese New Year holidays, Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin and his team went to the ground to visit the victims of the typhoon like winds which affected residents Kampung Tawas and Tasek recently.
Under the Council’s MBI Prihatin programme, they also dispersed RM5,000 worth of food baskets contributed by Econsave.
They included food items and other essentials.
Also present was Shah Effendy Rosman, manager of Econsave, Jelapang branch.
It is hoped that the contribution were serve to ease the burden of the residents in the area.
Meanwhile Ipoh City Council workers were quick to help clear the debris left behind by the freak typhoon.
They cleared fallen trees, branches, zinc sheets, plywood and other damage sustained in the periphery of the area.
The state government also contributed RM300 each for each household for immediate repairs as announced by Perak Menteri Besar Dato Saarani Mohamad.
Affected residents will also receive aid of RM1,000 from the federal government via the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
