Some 100 media representatives and Ipoh City Council strategic partners attended a Ramah Mesra Media event with Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin@Md Daud at Qing Xing Ling Leisure and Cultural Village here on October 13.
Among those present were Director of Qing Xing Ling Leisure, Cheng Swee Kiat and Manager of Cultural Village, Beh Tek Lee, senior Ipoh City Council officers and councillors.
The event was organised by the council and the two strategic partners with the objective to describe the concept of close relationship between the council and it’s strategic partners.
It is also to value and appreciate the role of the media in the development of the city towards “Ipoh A Smart and Prosperous City”.
In his speech, Rumaizi said:” I have been waiting eagerly for this opportunity to mingle and get closer with the media to forge a closer rapport with the council for the betterment and interests of the residents.
” I thank the journalists for coming out with balance and positive reporting in the print and electronic media,” he added.
The Mayor also commended the eight strategic partners for their contribution in cash and kind for the residents through the Program MBI Prihatian.
He also presented appreciation certificates to media representatives and strategic partners representatives.
Among them are Qing Xing Ling Leisure and Cultural Village, Chang Jiang, Pasaraya Econsave, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, Navira Meditech Sdn Bhd, Lost World of Tambun, Kelab Sukan dan Kebajikan Media Perak and Persatuan Pengamal Media Perak.
