The Ipoh City Council brought along media members from the city to the enchanting island of Langkawi recently.
While there, the media team took part in several activities, among them a workshop on Effective Written Communication and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in news writing.
This is in line with the current technology development and communication landscape.
The council’s retreat with media representatives and tourism industry players to enhance strategic partnership was held at Cenang Hill Beach Resort .
The delegation which included Council officers was led by the Council’s Corporate Director Faridah Abdul Aziz who also officiated the event.
Among the objectives is to expand the strategic network in the tourism sector .
Faridah noted the retreat gave an opportunity to exchange ideas and experience on development of destinations, branding of cities, strategic communications, methods to cooperation with local authorities , agencies, industry players and media.
Apart from workshops and strategic networking, participants were taken to several locations in Langkawi to have a closer look at the management and promotion of tourism destinations.
The retreat reflected the commitment by the council to strengthen the collaboration with media,agencies, and industry players as a strategic partner to support the development of a sustainable, competitive and well being city.
A dinner was held at Cenang Hill, by representatives from Langkawi Tourism Industry Association,Kedah Elite Media Club and Perak Media Practitioners Association.
Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (LADA) also hosted a dinner reception for the delegation.
