Long term plans to make Ipoh City and its surrounding areas an ideal, sustainable and tourism driven destination are in the works.
In line with the Ipoh Structure Plan 2035 draft and the rebranding of the Greater Ipoh Tourism Plan, these aspirations are to be achieved.
Representing Perak Menteri Besar Dato Sri Saarani Mohamad was Perak State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Tourism, Dato Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.
The launching of the event was held at the Meru Casuarina Hotel here.
Also present was Ipoh Mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin along with the various department heads.
The plans are a long term project to ensure the optimization of land usage and natural resources.
The draft plans are also in tandem with international, national, state and local government guidelines. It is also taken into consideration of all stakeholders.
Members of the public can also give their views and comments on the draft plans proposed till Dec 13, 2021.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the Greater Ipoh Tourism Hub involves the nearby districts, for example Ipoh to be a Hipster Hub, Batu Gajah as a Healthy Lifestyle Hub, Gopeng as an Eco Tourism hub and Kuala Kangsar as a Royal Town hub.
